Data does not respect convenient boundaries
A pressure sensor on a remote pipeline, an instrument submerged beneath water, a meter inside a reinforced concrete building, a machine deep in a factory, a monitoring station in a desert or on a mountain: each creates a different challenge. Distance matters. So do terrain, rock, water, vegetation, metal, building materials, power availability, interference and the commercial cost of installation and maintenance.
No single technology fits every job
Tigertek brings together a family of sensing, embedded intelligence and communications technologies. The answer may involve a short-range local link, a Mesh network, low-power radio, an existing wired connection, a cellular or internet connection where available, or a carefully designed combination. Underwater installations, for example, typically need a suitable cable or an above-water relay: radio signals do not simply travel through water as they do through air. Similarly, dense buildings and mountains can require relay positioning or a different transmission medium. Our value is in selecting the architecture that suits the environment rather than forcing the environment to suit a product.
From sensor to decision
A practical system starts with the measurement: pressure, temperature, humidity, pulses, water levels, equipment condition, energy use or environmental conditions. It then considers distance, power, bandwidth, latency, security, installation access and how the data is to be used. Local intelligence can process or display information without dependence on continuous internet connectivity. When wider distribution is necessary, the appropriate communications paths can be integrated.
The commercial outcome matters
A communications solution is only successful when it works for the customer economically. That means balancing hardware, civil works, power, deployment effort, service visits, recurring charges, resilience and the value of timely data. A robust local solution may avoid unnecessary cloud infrastructure or subscriptions. In other cases, a hybrid design is justified by operational demands. The objective is dependable information at a sensible total cost.
